Gallesia integrifolia (Spreng.) Harms, known as pau-d’alho, occurs in several Brazilian states and little is known about seed germination of this species. Thus, this work aimed to evaluate the seedlings emergency of the species in different kinds of seeds storage and different substrates for sowing. Five storage periods (45, 60, 90, 120, and 365 days), four storage conditions (plastic and kraft paper bags placed in environmental temperature and humidity and cold chamber) and six substrate compositions (sand, vegetable soil, vermiculite, sand + vegetable soil, sand + vermiculite and vegetable soil + vermiculite) were tested. Vermiculite and the mixtures of vermiculite with sand and vegetable soil are the substrates that promoted the highest percentages of emergence. As for storage, the period factor depends on the conditions, with the highest emergence values obtained with storage in a plastic bag in a cold chamber for 120 days.
