Abstract

Botany is an area that studies plants and algae, organisms with scientific, economical and cultural importance as well as influence on the quality of life and human survival, but whose teaching and learning is considered difficult. Therefore, it is necessary to seek teaching strategies, such as scientific dissemination that can function as a teaching tool. In order to bring students of the 2nd year of high school from three State school units in São Raimundo Nonato, Piauí, closer to the topic of botany and improve the teaching-learning process, this work used the results of a research on pollination of agricultural species cultivated in the microregion. The pedagogical activity included lectures, didactic models and games. When comparing the average grade of students before and after the didactic interventions, the results showed that scientific dissemination activities can help the construction of students' knowledge in the teaching-learning process and enable a greater fixation of botany contents.

Marcos Vinicius Meiado, Universidade Federal de Sergipe

Possui graduação em Ciências Biológicas - Bacharelado pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (2005), Mestrado (2008) e Doutorado (2012) em Biologia Vegetal pela mesma instituição. Atualmente é professor do Departamento de Biociências (DBCI), da Universidade Federal de Sergipe (UFS). Tem experiência na área de Botânica, com ênfase em Ecofisiologia Vegetal de Ambientes Semiáridos, atuando, principalmente, nos seguintes temas: alelopatia, banco de sementes do solo, Cactaceae, conservação de espécies ameaçadas de extinção, desenvolvimento inicial, germinação e memória hídrica de sementes. Professor permanente do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ecologia e Conservação (PPEC / UFS São Cristóvão), onde realiza estudos e orienta trabalhos nas linhas de pesquisa "Biodiversidade da Caatinga" e "Restauração de Áreas Degradadas"; bem como do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ciências Naturais (PPGCN / UFS Itabaiana), orientando na linha de pesquisa "Biodiversidade e Meio Ambiente".

Sheila Milena Neves de Araújo Soares, Universidade Estadual do Piauí

Bióloga formada pela Universidade Federal do Piauí (2007). Mestre (2009) e Doutora (2015) em Biologia Vegetal pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Biologia Vegetal (PPGBV) da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, ambos com ênfase Ecologia e linha de pesquisa em Ecologia da Polinização. Atualmente Professora Adjunto com dedicação exclusiva do curso de Licenciatura Plena em Ciências Biológicas da Universidade Estadual do Piauí (Desde 2009).
