Understanding photosynthesis can facilitate classroom discussions about diverse and current topics, such as pollution and food scarcity. However, it is noticed that many teachers have difficulties to teach this and other contents related to Botany. These subjetcs are addressed in high school during Biology classes, and complementary didactic materials with a focus on teachers can work as an interesting strategy to solve these questions, completing in a dynamic way the classes. Thus, this work aimed to report the production of a complementary didactic material addressing botanical themes, especially photosynthesis. anatomy, morphology and plant physiology contents were highlighted for the understanding of photosynthesis processes. In addition, activities with the local flora were proposed for possible application in the classroom. With this, it is expected that the complementary didactic material serves as a distinct possibility from that found in textbooks, and can be used as a source of consultation to improve the construction of knowledge in the teaching and learning process.
