Representatives of Apis mellifera have an intense foraging activity to search for food, storing a large amount of pollen grains, which are important due to their high nutritional value. In order to know the botanical profile of the bee pollen produced by A. mellifera in an ecotone area in the semiarid region of Bahia, as well as the food preferences of this species, samples of bee pollen were collected in an apiary in the municipality of Caetité, Bahia, through a pollen trap, and treated with acetolysis. Sixty-five pollen types were found. The types classified as very frequent (VF) were: Evolvulus glomeratus, Eucalyptus, and Mimosa tenuiflora, which are the most important for bees in this study. Algrizea minor, Caryocar brasiliense, and Mimosa adenophylla were considered good geographic markers of local vegetation. The results reinforce the generalist habit of the bee species and climatic factors influenced the availability of floral resources.
