Abstract

Lamiaceae Martinov is the sixth largest family of Angiosperms, containing about 240 genera and 7,200 species. In Brazil, it also presents high richness, represented by 70 genera and approximately 590 species. Despite this, it is a relatively underrepresented family in regional floristic studies. The objective of this work was to carry out the floristics and taxonomy of the Lamiaceae species occurring in the municipality of Alagoinhas, Bahia, Brazil. The survey was carried out both by collecting botanical material and by consulting materials deposited in herbarium collections in the region, such as HUNEB and HUEFS. The family is represented in the municipality by 16 species distributed in 13 genera and 4 tribes. Among these species, Mesosphaerum caatingense stands out, which had its first record for the state of Bahia and for the Atlantic Forest carried out in this work. Descriptions, field photographs, comments on the species and an identification key are provided.

Gracineide Selma Santos de Almeida, Universidade do Estado da Bahia

Possui graduação em Licenciatura em Ciências Biológicas pela Universidade do Estado da Bahia (2002) e doutorado em Botânica pela Universidade Federal de Viçosa (2008). Atualmente é professora titular da Universidade do Estado da Bahia, coordenadora do Colegiado de Ciências Biológicas e Professora permanente do Mestrado em Modelagem e Simulação de Biossistemas - PPGMSB/ DCET II/ UNEB. Tem experiência na área de Botânica, com ênfase em Taxonomia, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: Florística de fragmentos e remanescentes de Mata Atlântica, Taxonomia e biogeografia de Asteraceae na Mata Atlântica e em Campos Rupestres.

Itajilanda do Nascimento Santana, Secretaria Municipal da Educação de Pojuca

Mestre em Botânica (2017-2019) pelo PPG-Bot (UEFS), trabalhando com o gênero Lippia L. (Verbenaceae) para a Flora do Estado da Bahia (CAPES). Graduada em Licenciatura em Ciência Biológicas pela Universidade do Estado da Bahia (UNEB). Já participou do Programa Institucional de Bolsa de Iniciação à Docência (PIBID) de 2013-2014. Foi estagiária no Herbário da UNEB e monitora voluntária do componente curricular Taxonomia vegetal. Foi bolsista de Iniciação Científica com os seguintes projetos: Biologia floral e fenologia de Verbesina macrophylla - Heliantheae (Asteraceae) ocorrentes no complexo vegetacional UNEB-EBDA, Alagoinhas, Bahia de 2014-2015 e Levantamento florístico de Verbenaceae no Complexo vegetacional UNEB/EBDA, Alagoinhas, Bahia, de 2015-2016 (FAPESB).
