We describe the creation of the Southern Bahia Atlantic Forest Palynotheca, a botanical collection associated to the FLORAS Botanical Garden. Currently, the palinoFLORAS has three pollen slides collections under construction, including 54 records from the reference’s collection, 52 from the applied collection and 28 from the didactic collection. The new pollen library has supported activities in palynology’s teaching and research, contributing to human resource training in this area. We hope this initiative promote the implementation of more palynothecas in Brazil and, consequently, more studies focused on our still poorly known palynodiversity.
