Taxonomic study of Sloanea L. (Elaeocarpaceae) in the Metropolitan Region of Belém, Pará, Brazilian Amazon

This study aims to contribute to the knowledge of the taxonomy of Sloanea (Elaeocarpaceae) in the Metropolitan Region of Belém, Pará State, Brazilian Amazon. Eight species of Sloanea were recorded: S. floribunda, S. grandiflora, S. granulosa, S. guianensis, S. nitida, S. porphyrocarpa, S. sinemariensis, and S. terniflora. Identification keys, morphological descriptions, geographical distribution, and taxonomic comments are provided for the species treated.
